Job summary

Responsibilities include direct patient care, assessing needs across ages, responding to emergencies, developing care plans, educating patients and families, managing pain, administering meds, and documenting in MediTech.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• RN license current in the State of Texas.
• Preferred 2 years’ experience as a RN in hospital Med/Surg unit.
• Telemetry experience preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS offered at facility if not currently certified.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment, utilizing critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within RN scope and hospital policies.
• Assesses psychosocial, educational and physical needs across ages.
• Responds quickly to emergencies.
• Develops and prioritizes plan of care to meet goals.
• Identifies educational needs and educates patients and families.
• Manages pain and monitors patient response to treatment.
• Delivers medications safely with ongoing assessment.
• Documents care and follows up per policies.
• Utilizes MediTech for patient registration, orders, discharge, and EMR access.
