Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg General Surgical Department at Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. This full-time role covers 7a-7p shifts with rotating weekends and holidays on a 36-bed unit that handles varied post-op GI/abdominal, and plastics wound care with ostomy/drain management.

The department is MAGNET certified and part of a Level I Trauma Center, offering opportunities for growth and a strong leadership team.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing is required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire.
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire.
• 1-year experience as a registered nurse or the completion of an RN Residency program.
• 2+ years med surg experience as an RN in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
