Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Acute Med/Surg. The role supports a 35-bed unit with patient care across post-surgical and acute conditions, emphasizing teamwork and high-quality care.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate Degree or Nursing Diploma with RN licensure in Texas, BLS certification, and either 1 year of experience or completion of an RN residency. BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required.
• Current RN license or compact license recognized by Texas Board of Nursing on hire.
• BLS before providing independent patient care and updated quarterly.
• 1 year experience as a clinical nurse or RN residency completion required.
• 2+ years Med/Surg RN experience in acute care preferred.

Responsabilités

Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work hours: Full Time, 7:00 am– 7:00 pm with rotating weekends/holidays

Department highlights

• Acute Med/surg Unit (35 bed unit) Patients are admitted with Acute Med/surg diagnosis such as post surgery, urology , limb salvage, chronic wounds, GI , diabetes, respiratory overflow, isolations and airborne covid – general remote tele that has to be monitored
• This unit is known for it’s teamwork and collaboration

Here’s What You Need

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma Required, BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• BLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• 1 Year Experience as a clinical nurse or completion of an RN residency program Req
• 2+ years strong Med/surg RN experience in acute care setting preferred

• Maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients
• Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism
• Have basic computer skills using Medical management application systems

What You Will Do

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
