Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact/multistate license.
• Current ACLS & BLS/CPR certifications required.
• Must be able to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and some holidays.
• Two years of experience preferred.
• Adaptable with strong critical thinking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and monitoring patient conditions, including vital signs and medical history.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans.
• Educating patients and families about conditions, treatments, and self-care.
• Documenting care and progress in electronic medical records.
• Responding to emergencies with immediate interventions.
• Maintaining a clean and safe patient care environment.
• Adhering to hospital policies and state/federal regulations.

Job Brief:

The Medical Surgical Nurse is critical in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient safety and satisfaction. The Medical Surgical Nurse will work closely with physicians, other nurses, and support staff to ensure patients receive the best possible care.

Job Duties:

• Assessing and monitoring patient conditions, including vital signs, symptoms, and medical history.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educating patients and their families about their condition, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
• Documenting patient care and progress in electronic medical records.
• Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate interventions as needed.
• Maintaining a clean and safe patient care environment.
• Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures and state and federal regulations.

Requirements
