Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Med-Surg nurse in Louisiana for night shifts. You will lead care touchpoints, coordinate with the care team, and advocate for patient safety while ensuring compassionate, high-quality bedside care.

This role emphasizes wound care, infection control, and patient education across diverse cases. Ideal candidates hold a Louisiana nursing license with BLS and PALS certifications, and are ready to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care

Qualifications

  • Active Louisiana nursing license.
  • AHA BLS certification required.
  • PALS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, prioritize, coordinate, and delegate care touchpoints for patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure direct patient care.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
  • Monitor patients and engage with families regarding significant events or changes in condition.
  • Prevent and treat wounds.
  • Monitor and enforce Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
  • Ensure continuity of care and efficient throughput with clear, consistent communications.
  • Educate patients and families using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
  • Contribute to the team by assisting others proactively.

You bring all you’ve got to every patient’s bedside, call light, hand hold, chart entry, medical need, team request, family request, and even the proverbial Jello request.

Responsibilities
  • Take the lead: prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for your patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care.
  • Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
  • Monitor and engage with your patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns.
  • Prevent and treat wounds.
  • Monitor and execute Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
  • Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
  • Advise and consult with the supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
  • Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
  • Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
Qualifications
  • Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Current PALs certification.
