Job summary

Boston Medical Center - South is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 2b Med Telemetry floor- OCE Unit, Ortho spine and Bariatric Surgical Unit. The 32-hour schedule runs 3p-11p, every other weekend, with benefits.

Requirements include Nursing Diploma/ASN/BSN, RN MA license with BLS, and 1-2 years acute Med/Surg experience; BSN preferred. The RN will provide patient-centered care across ages and diverse needs, including education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Education: Nursing Diploma, ASN or BSN; Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years required.
• License/Certifications: Current RN MA license & BLS required.
• Experience: 1-2 years of acute Med/Surg experience strongly preferred in hospital setting.
• Knowledge: Excellent assessment skills, clinical skills and organizational skills and charge capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care addressing needs from infant to elderly, and individualized to impairments such as hearing, sight, and language barriers.
• Demonstrate knowledge of patient rights, mission, vision and values in nursing practice; assume responsibility for quality of care, health maintenance, teaching and counseling.
• May delegate nursing activities and coordinate care with other staff while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly and is also individualized to a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, non-English speaking, and potential victims of abuse. The Registered Nurse incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, our mission vision and values into nursing practice at Good Samaritan Medical Center. The Registered Nurse assumes full and ultimate responsibility for the quality of nursing care she/he provides to individuals and groups. Included in such responsibility is health maintenance, teaching, counseling, collaborative planning and restoration of optimal functioning and comfort or for the dignified death of those they serve. The Registered Nurse, within the parameters of his/her generic and continuing education experience, may delegate nursing acuities to other registered nurses and/or health care personnel, provided that the delegating Registered Nurse shall bear full and ultimate responsibility for the patient outcomes. The Registered Nurse must have excellent assessment skills, clinical skills, organizational skills, and computer knowledge and charge capabilities. The Registered Nurse must be able to lift, transfer and move patients. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in the English language. Able to complete mathematical computations required to perform treatment protocols.

Compensation Range

$38.86- $80.77

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer.
