Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver safe patient care on the Medical/Surgical Unit. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, and guide patient/family education while coordinating with the healthcare team.

The role requires an active RN license, BLS; ACLS is preferred. Prior acute care and ventilator management experience are also preferred, with BSN being advantageous. This is a part-time position with day shift.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current (preferred).
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the nursing scope.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License.

2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.

4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.

5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.

6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
