Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital in Olympia Fields, Illinois is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Oncology department. The role covers full-time day shifts (7:00am–7:30pm) with 3-12 hour shifts, delivering direct patient care on the Medical/Surgical Unit under nursing care standards.

Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, plus clear communication with physicians about patient changes. BSN preferred; ACLS and ventilator management experience are assets.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license required.
• BLS certification at hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained (preferred).
• Experience in a acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. He / She communicates with physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
