Job summary

MountainView Hospital is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse to assess, plan, and deliver high-quality nursing care for Cardiac patients in the 3 South unit. You will implement care plans, administer medications, manage IV therapy, and ensure patient safety while educating patients on treatment plans.

The role requires NV RN licensure, BCLS/ACLS certifications, and a minimum of one year of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in NV.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year acute care hospital experience in a specialty.
• Attend Trauma Informed Care course as directed by Manager/Director.
• BCLS and ACLS certifications current.
• MAB/De-escalation training completed.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and evaluate nursing care per standards for Med/Surg Cardiac patients.
• Administer medications as ordered, with knowledge of actions and contraindications.
• Initiate and manage IV therapy for assigned patients.
• Assign care responsibilities considering patient complexity.
• Monitor and communicate safety concerns in a timely manner.
• Provide patient education and keep patient informed of treatment plan.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse. In this role you will be responsible for planning, executing and evaluating the nursing care given to Med/Surg Cardiac patients. If this describes you, come be a part of what makes us great.

• You will develop and implement individual patient care plans in accordance with standards of nursing practice through implementation of the nursing process and nursing diagnosis

• You will administer medications as ordered for specific group of patients and demonstrates knowledge of their modes of action, side effects and contraindications

• You will initiate, regulate and otherwise manages IV therapy for a specific group of assigned patients

• You will assume responsibility for patient placement on the unit and assignment of care responsibilities that consider complexity of nursing care required by each patient

• You will evaluate patient environment for safety and communicates identified concerns to the appropriate person in a timely manner

• You will provide patient education and keeps patient informed of treatment plan

What qualifications you will need:

This position is in the 3 South department

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada

• AACN National Certification preferred

• Attend Trauma Informed Care course as directed by Manager/Director

• Current BCLS certification from American Heart Association

• Current ACLS certification from American Heart Association

• Management of Aggressive Behavior (MAB)/De-escalation Techniques course

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

• BSN preferred

• Minimum of one year of acute care hospital experience in an area of specialty preferred
