Job summary

Monroe Hospital in Bloomington, Indiana, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Med/Surg Acute RN for a full-time, temporary 13-week assignment. You will deliver safe patient care using the nursing process and work within a dedicated team on the Medical/Surgical unit.

This role requires a current state RN license and BLS; ACLS is preferred. BSN is preferred, and prior acute care or ventilator management experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain excellent observation and assessment skills.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition and treatment response.

• Direct and guide nursing staff while maintaining standards on the Medical/Surgical unit.
• Promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness.
• Educate patients, families, and communities about health.

Overview

Department: Med/Surg Acute

Status:Full-Time, Temporary (13 Weeks)

Pay:$55/hour

The Med Surg RN is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients admitted with nonsurgical (medical) and surgical conditions
• communicate with physician about changes in the patients’ clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology
• excellent observation and assessment skills
• respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment
• skilled in recording symptoms, reactions, and progress
• administer medical treatments and examinations
• develop, plan, implementation, evaluate, document, and manage nursing care
• direct and guide the activities of other nursing personnel, while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical unit
• work to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness
• health educators for patients, families, and communities

Qualifications

1. Current and valid state RN License.
