Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey invites applications for a Labor and Delivery Nurse within the Maternal Child Services team at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. This role supports Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and High Risk Antepartum units with a patient-centered approach and strong teamwork.

Required is a current New Jersey nursing license, BLS/CPR, at least 1 year in maternal child services, ACLS/NRP preferred with 6‑month targets, BSN in progress encouraged.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• A minimum of 1 year maternal child services experience in a hospital setting including labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and well baby nursery is required.
• ACLS and NRP preferred; must obtain within 6 months.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus are all required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and High Risk Antepartum units as part of a collaborative team.
• Support patient safety, education, and discharge planning in a fast-paced obstetric setting.

Our Maternal Child Services team is responsible for the36 bed Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and High Risk Antepartum areas, 7 bed triage, and 2 Operating Rooms. We are also designated a Baby Friendly Institution.
