Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse in Maternal Child Services for Labor & Delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn care in Neptune, NJ. Per diem, night shifts available.

Responsibilities include delivering evidence-based nursing care, coordinating with the care team, and providing education to families to support healthy outcomes. NJ RN license and BLS/CPR are required, ACLS/NRP preferred with 6 months to obtain.

Qualifications

• BSN in progress with plan to complete within 3 years of hire.
• Minimum 1 year maternal child services experience in a hospital setting.
• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license required.
• BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire.
• ACLS and NRP preferred; must obtain within 6 months.

• Deliver nursing care based on evidence-based standards.
• Communicate patient status and care plans with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation tech.
• Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations electronically.
• Provide patient and family-centered education to optimize health and wellness.
• Assist in multi-disciplinary discharging for safe transitions of care.
• Care for Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and High Risk Antepartum patients.
• Circulate in the Operating Room and provide Newborn Nursery care.

What You'll Do

• Deliver nursing practices based on evidence-based research and standards of care.
• Communicate ongoing patient status and care plans with healthcare team members.
• Administer medications using advanced bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Document patient assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations electronically.
• Provide patient and family-centered education to optimize health and wellness.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary discharging to ensure safe transitions of care.
• Care for Labor and Delivery patients, Mother/Baby couplet care, and High Risk Antepartum.
• Circulate in the Operating Room and provide Newborn Nursery Care.

Requirements

Education:

• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire

Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year maternal child services experience in a hospital setting

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license required
• BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire
• ACLS preferred, must obtain within 6 months
• NRP preferred, must obtain within 6 months
