Qualifications

  • SOVAH Danville's Behavioral Health Unit is a 24-bed unit which provides services that treats mental health issues and promotes patient wellbeing. We have a team of staff Psychiatrists, Nurses, Counselors, Social Workers, Case Managers and Technicians that offer individual, group and family therapy. Additionally, we support this with medication therapy and other interventions. SOVAH Danville offers a supportive, safe and healing environment for recovery. Once discharged, we also have involvement from our community care partners, which help support a successful return to the home environment.

Job Summary

Assist the Program Director in directing all nursing activities and in assessing and monitoring the quality of nursing services provided within the Behavioral Health Departments in Danville and Martinsville.

Assist the Program Director in recruitment and interviewing of staff and evaluation of employee performance.

Conducts new employee training and orientation

Assist in review and revision of policies and procedures

Participates in departmental and team meetings to discuss patient care and develop treatment plans

The Clinical Manager is also a working RN and routinely personally executes nursing care duties to ensure quality patient care and proper execution and documentation of the treatment plan

Qualifications

Qualifications and requirements

Minium Education

Graduate from a program of professional nursing required.

BSN required within three years of hire or transfer to the role

Minium Work Experience

Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.

Required Skills

Two years' leadership or charge nurse experience preferred

Must agree to travel across campuses if needed by the Director

May be required to work flexible hours

Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS)

American Heart Association (AHA) required

Handle with Care required with 30 days of hire

Licenses

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or compact state required
