General Summary

Under general administrative direction, is accountable for the delivery of patient care services which support the strategic plan of the organization and achieves clinical, financial and service quality objectives in our Pediatric Emergency Department /Pediatric and Adolescent Wellness Space. Our Pediatric ED, serving children from birth through 21 years of age, is staffed with a team passionate about the care of children and youth. We offer a wide range of services and pediatric specialty care and serve the emergency needs of pediatric patients in both the local community and the region. As the only site for pediatric intermediate, intensive and specialty care within the UMMS system, our distinct pediatric emergency department serves over 16,000 patients annually. The Peds ED manager is accountable for the quality of clinical services delivered, for the competency and performance of nursing staff, and for designing and maintaining systems to support multidisciplinary team functioning and continuity of services with the Children's Hospital / Pediatric service line. Serves as a key participant in organizational project teams and work groups.

Qualifications
  • BSN required. Master’s degree with management coursework preferred.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, or eligibility for licensure due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
  • Three years of clinical experience required. Pediatric and/or emergency department experience required.
