Job summary

Missouri Veterans Commission is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses and Registered Nurses to support our Veterans. The team is dedicated to compassionate care and ensuring Veterans receive thorough, respectful service across admission, care planning, and daily rounds.

Positions offer varied shifts and competitive hourly wages. Eligible candidates include licensed RNs or LPNs in Missouri, or graduates awaiting licensure with up to 90 days grace, per MO Board of Nursing guidelines.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri in good standing.
• A recent graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift on assigned unit
• Assess needs of Veterans and ensures services are consistent with needs
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plan according to healthcare protocol
• Make rounds with the physician, inform of status of patients and receive instructions for care and treatment
• Transcribe and implement physician’s orders accurately
• Document accurately all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in electronic medical record (EMR)
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician accurately with follow‑up observations
• Assist Veteran with various needs such as transferring, positioning, transporting, feeding, promoting elimination, toileting, bathing and showering, etc.
• Assist Veteran upon admission and/or discharge
• Participate in orientation of unit staff

LPN Hourly Pay

• Day shift: $29.30 - $31.28/hour
• Evening and night shift: $31.30 - $33.28/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience
• Additional $1.50/hour weekend shift differential available

RN Hourly Pay

• Day shift: $38.92 - $41.80/hour
• Evening and night shift: $42.42 - $45.56/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience
