Missouri Veterans Home - Cameron is seeking a caring nurse (LPN or RN) to join our mission-focused team serving our state's bravest heroes. We offer hourly pay by shift with weekend differentials, and opportunities to grow within MO Veterans Commission.

Responsibilities include assessing Veterans, creating and following care plans, administering medications, documenting in EMR, and supporting Veterans through admission and discharge. Join a dedicated team committed to excellence in care.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri in good standing.
• Recent graduate may practice as a graduate nurse until licensure results are received or 90 days after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on the assigned shift.
• Assess Veterans' needs and ensure services meet those needs.
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plans per healthcare protocol.
• Make rounds with the physician and relay patient status.
• Transcribe and implement physician orders accurately.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in EMR.
• Administer medications and treatments with follow-up observations.
• Assist Veterans with transfers, positioning, feeding, and personal care.
• Assist Veterans on admission and/or discharge.
• Participate in unit staff orientation.

LPN Hourly Pay:

• Day shift: $29.30 - $31.28/hour
• Evening and night shift: $31.30 - $33.28/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience
• Additional $1.50/hour weekend shift differential available

RN Hourly Pay:

• Day shift: $38.92 - $41.80/hour
• Evening and night shift: $42.42 - $45.56/hour
• Pay commensurate with experience

EXAMPLES OF WORK

• Assess, organize, and plan staff duties on assigned shift on assigned unit
• Assess needs of Veterans and ensures services are consistent with needs
• Implement Veteran MDS and care plan according to healthcare protocol
• Make rounds with the physician, inform of status of patients and receive instructions for care and treatment
• Transcribe and implement physician’s orders accurately
• Document accurately all nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations in electronic medical record (EMR)
• Give medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician accurately with follow-up observations
• Assist Veteran with various needs such as transferring, positioning, transporting, feeding, promoting elimination, toileting, bathing and showering, etc.
• Assist Veteran upon admission and/or discharge
• Participate in orientation of unit staff

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Missouri, in good standing, or
• A recent graduate of an accredited nursing program may practice as a graduate nurse until results of first licensure examination are received or until 90 days after graduation, whichever occurs first, as allowed by the Missouri Board of Nursing
