NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHSGGC is recruiting a Registered Nurse Learning Disability (RNLD) to join Specialist Learning Disability Inpatient Services. Based at Claythorn House, you will join a skilled multidisciplinary team delivering patient-centred care to individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.

You will hold an RNLD or RMN qualification, with live NMC pin, and demonstrate strong communication, risk assessment and professional development.

Qualifications

• Live NMC pin required to be considered.
• Registered Nurse Learning Disability or RMN qualification.
• Current NMC registration or eligibility to register.
• Ability to assess risk and exercise clinical judgement.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with learning disabilities and complex needs.
• Undertake assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care programmes.
• Act as a Named or Associate Nurse for a defined patient group.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to support positive patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and provide effective written and verbal clinical communication.
• Respond appropriately to clinical incidents, emergencies and changes in patient presentation.
• Support, supervise and develop students, support workers and junior members of staff.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Nurse Learning Disability (RNLD) to join our Specialist Learning Disability Inpatient Services within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Working as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals with learning disabilities who may also present with complex physical, behavioural or mental health needs. • Working Pattern: Day shift and Night shift

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients with learning disabilities and complex needs
• Undertake assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised care programmes

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job

• Registered Nurse Learning Disability qualification or Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification
• Current NMC registration or eligibility to register
• Knowledge of caring for individuals with learning disabilities and complex care needs
• Understanding of relevant Mental Health legislation and Adults with Incapacity legislation
• Ability to assess risk, exercise clinical judgement and make informed decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to professional development and delivering high standards of person-centred care
