Job Summary and Qualifications

The registered nurse coordinates nursing care for assigned patients, providing quality care to applicable age groups (see addendum). The RN applies growth and development principles and provides care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety, and other criteria. Following facility policies, the RN exercises independent judgment in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN also demonstrates leadership by collaborating with the healthcare team to maintain professional standards. Duties may vary depending on the area of assignment.

What you will do in this role:

• Collect and analyze data to identify expected outcomes for patients.
• Develop and prioritize care plans to achieve measurable goals.
• Implement interventions and evaluate results, especially for Critical Care patients.
• Identify educational needs and provide patient/family education.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and judgment in care delivery.
• Administer medications safely, assessing patient responses.

Qualifications needed:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required or enrolled.
• Current RN license in Texas or Compact license.
• At least 1 year of current L&D experience or participation in a training program.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Current ACLS and NRP certifications.
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring course within 90 days of hire.
