Job Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to care for patients.
• Assesses, organizes, and completes patient care with consideration for patient age, cultural, and psychosocial factors.
• Documents steps of the nursing process.
• Utilizes proper medical terminology. Addresses problems and progress toward goals.
• Facilitates patient discharge through timely, appropriate referrals and utilization of patient education resources, suitable to patient age and cultural/psychosocial factors.
• Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate.
• Supports unit/hospital goals through PI and educational activities as evidenced by attending in-services, meeting unit education standards, and completing variance reports.
• Decision Making: Exercises independent judgment in making decisions from many diversified alternatives that are subject to general review in final stages only.

• 11 OB triage rooms
• 3 surgical suites
• 350 deliveries per month
• 40% high-risk cases
• Second highest delivery hospital in Oklahoma

Requirements

Strong preference for candidates with Labor & Delivery experience; however, candidates with 2 years of hospital nursing experience in other acute care areas may be considered due to limited L&D availability. Non-L&D candidates must have strong hospital experience and a clear interest in transitioning into Labor & Delivery.

Because orientation is approximately 5 months for those without L&D experience, we are seeking candidates who are committed to the specialty and demonstrate a genuine passion for maternal care and long-term growth within L&D.
