Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in the CVICU, focusing on postoperative CABG, vascular and ICU-status patients. You will perform full nursing processes, assessments, and care planning, with hourly rounding and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

The role requires an IL-licensed RN with BLS and ACLS credentials, 1+ year of RN experience, and willingness to work nights (7p–7:30a) and weekend shifts as part of the department rotation.

Qualifications

• RN license required in IL; BLS cert within 30 days; ACLS within 1 year.
• Experience with CVICU patient care and postoperative CABG.
• Ability to perform 12-hour night shifts and weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a group of CVICU patients during designated shifts.
• Provide direct patient care using nursing process and evidence-based interventions.
• Maintain documentation and develop/update plans of care.
• Perform hourly patient rounding and monitor patient status.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame
• Provide patient care using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial resources, and human resources
• Perform unit-specific responsibilities and duties within the scope of service
• Implement procedures and theories related to the specific practice area
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care
• Complete initial patient assessments and develop plans of care based on patient and family needs
• Implement and continuously evaluate nursing interventions and patient care procedures
• Report or correct safety hazards and incidents
• Communicate directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues
• Provide constructive feedback and confer with colleagues to support professional development and expand knowledge
• Identify learning needs and initiate appropriate solutions
• Provide direct care to CVICU patients, including postoperative CABG, vascular, and ICU-status patients
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or BSN
• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 1 year
• More than 1 year of RN work experience
• Fulfill all departmental competencies
• Work night shift, 7p-7:30a, three 12-hour shifts
• Work 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Participate in department holiday rotation
