Job summary

TalentBurst is hiring a Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care / Step Down in Atlanta, GA. This contract role runs nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with 3 shifts per week for 36 hours weekly. Requires 2+ years in intermediate care and BLS/ACLS certifications, NIHSS preferred. Onsite assignment with expectations to manage complex patients and respiratory support as needed.

Candidates must be prepared to work major and minor holidays and collaborate with the pulmonary/thoracic team in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Intermediate Care / Step Down nursing experience.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Strong experience caring for medically complex and high-acuity patients

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
• Recognize changes in patient status and intervene appropriately based on clinical needs
• Provide care for intermediate medical patients requiring close monitoring
• Care for patients with high-risk respiratory conditions

Job Title: Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care
Department: 648A Pulmonary Thoracic – RN Intermediate / Step Down
Location: Atlanta, GA 30342
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Shift: 3×12-hour shifts / 36 hours per week
Local Candidates: No local candidates within 50 miles

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of recent Intermediate Care / Step Down nursing experience

AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required

NIHSS certification preferred

Strong experience caring for medically complex and high-acuity patients

Care for intermediate medical patients requiring close monitoring

Provide care for patients with high-risk respiratory conditions

Care for patients recovering from cardiac/thoracic, hepatobiliary, and head & neck surgeries

Manage patients requiring respiratory support ranging from room air to BiPAP and Optiflow

Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team

Recognize changes in patient status and intervene appropriately based on clinical needs

Holiday Requirement

Must work 2 major holidays from:

Thanksgiving Day

Christmas Day

New Year's Day

And 1 minor holiday:

Friday after Thanksgiving

Christmas Eve

New Year's Eve
