Job summary

AdventHealth in Kansas is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit on the weekend night shift. This part-time role offers opportunities for salary progression through aClinical Ladder program and teamwork within a high-acuity unit.

Responsibilities include assessing patients, designing care plans, administering medications, educating families, and collaborating with the care team to ensure excellence in patient outcomes. RN licensure and BLS certification are required.

• Ability to work as a team within a unit.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• EKG knowledge as per unit requirements.
• Must be fluent in English (reading, speaking, writing).
• Basic computer skills to navigate Windows programs.
• Ability to assess and adapt care plans using abstract reasoning.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, revising as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff and departments to coordinate and optimize patient care.

Registered Nurse Intensive Care Unit Weekend Work Nights

Clinical Ladder participation is voluntary. Salary adjustments are determined by program eligibility, advancement level, and organizational guidelines.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
