Job summary

Job Description

Lead the charge in delivering exceptional, compassionate patient care in our dynamic intensive care environment. You'll be at the forefront of critical patient advocacy, using your clinical expertise and the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care while empowering your team and educating patients and families through their most challenging moments. Your communication and problem-solving skills will be essential in collaborating with the healthcare team to drive solutions and achieve optimal patient outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Master the art of critical assessment—continuously monitor and evaluate complex patient conditions, anticipate changes, and respond with precision and confidence to acute clinical situations
  • Command complex medical equipment and monitoring systems with expertise, troubleshooting challenges and maintaining optimal functionality in the intensive care setting
  • Be a lifesaver—respond decisively to patient emergencies and lead code situations, delivering immediate, evidence-based interventions that make a real difference
  • Champion interdisciplinary collaboration by partnering with physicians, respiratory therapists, and specialists to design and execute comprehensive, patient-centered care plans
  • Maintain meticulous, timely documentation that tells your patient's story while ensuring full compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
  • Uphold the highest standards of infection control, safety protocols, and quality assurance to create a secure, healing environment for every patient

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and strong analytical capabilities for developing and implementing effective nursing care plans.
  • Proficiency in delivering comprehensive professional nursing services across diverse and complex clinical scenarios.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare personnel.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current, active licensure from the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
  • Healthcare Provider Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
