Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Part Time Physical Rehabilitation Nurse (Inpatient Rehab RN) at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.

The role focuses on caring for patients recovering from strokes, injuries or surgeries requiring rehabilitation services and helping them regain independence. Responsibilities include direct patient care, monitoring status, assisting with ADLs, teaching use of assistive devices, and participating in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current (preferred).
• BSN preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients recovering from medical conditions such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, orthopedic surgeries, amputations, chronic diseases or other conditions.
• Monitor patients’ medical status, vital signs, responses to rehabilitation therapies; along with administration of medications, manage IVs, and provide wound care as needed.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and activities of daily living (ADLs) with therapists coordination.
• Teach patients to use assistive devices, such as walkers, prosthetics, or wheelchairs.
• Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, and long-term care strategies.
• Participate in discharge planning, ensuring safe transition to home or another care setting.

Location : St. Mary's Medical Center - Blue Springs, MO
We are seeking a Physical Rehab ilitation Nurse , sometimes referred to as an Inpatient Rehab Nurse or Physical Rehab RN . A Physical Rehabilitation Nurse in our hospital will specialize in caring for patients recovering from acute or chronic illnesses, injuries, or surgeries that require rehabilitation services. These nurses help patients regain independence, improve their physical and functional abilities, and adapt to new health circumstances.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• P rovide direct care to patients recovering from medical conditions such as strokes, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, orthopedic surgeries, amputations, chronic diseases or other conditions
• M onitor patients’ medical status, vital signs, responses to rehabilitation therapies; along with administration of medications, manage IVs, and provide wound care as needed
• A ssist patients with exercises, mobility training, and activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and eating, in coordination with physical therapists and occupational therapists
• T each patients to use assistive devices, such as walkers, prosthetics, or wheelchairs
• E ducate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, and long-term care strategies
• P articipate in discharge planning, ensuring that patients are prepared for a safe transition to home or another care setting

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
