Qualifications

About This Role

The Registered Nurse- Infusion position at NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk involves executing professional nursing care in accordance with physician treatment plans, ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients and their families. This role is ideal for nurses who are skilled in patient assessment, treatment planning, and collaborative care.

What You'll Do

• Collect patient health data by involving the patient, family, and other health care providers.
• Perform initial assessment based on patient's presentation.
• Record relevant data on the nursing component of the Interdisciplinary Admission Assessment.
• Demonstrate awareness of the special needs of each age group or culture served.
• Perform ongoing assessments as established by department policy and as warranted by the patient's response.
• Incorporate discharge planning into the admission process.
• Analyze assessment data to determine problem identification and expected outcomes.
• Communicate expected outcomes to the patient, family, and other health care providers.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Document the initial plan of care and provide updates as required.

Requirements

Education:

• Completion of a two-year training at an accredited School of Nursing required.

Experience:

• Minimum 1-2 years experience in relevant department required for Per Diem status.
• 1 year Infusion or Chemotherapy experience preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• TCAR Certification preferred (SICU & PACU within first year).
• PALS and TNCC required for Emergency Department (within first year).
• CPI and BERT training required for Behavioral health RNs (within first 6 months).
