Qualifications

• Two-year nursing program completed at an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• BLS certification; ACLS certification required; PALS preferred.
• TCAR certification within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data by involving the patient, family, and other health care providers.
• Perform initial assessment based on patient's presentation.
• Record relevant data on the nursing component of the Interdisciplinary Admission Assessment.
• Demonstrate awareness of the special needs of each age group or culture served.
• Perform ongoing assessments as established by department policy and as warranted by the patient's response.
• Incorporate discharge planning into the admission process.
• Analyze assessment data to identify problems and expected outcomes individualized to the patient.
• Communicate expected outcomes to the patient, family, and other health care providers.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
• Recognize hazards to patient safety and take action to maintain a safe environment.

What You'll Do

Requirements

Education:

• Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through completion of a two-year training at an accredited School of Nursing.

Experience:

• Minimum 1-2 years experience in relevant department for Per Diem RN roles.


• 1 year ED RN experience preferred for Emergency Department RN.


• 1 year ICU/SDU experience preferred for Critical Care RN.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse.


• BLS certification required.


• ACLS certification required (ICU, Float pool, Emergency Dept, Cardiology).


• PALS preferred for Emergency Department RN.


• TCAR Certification (SICU & PACU) within the first year.
