Qualifications

• Education: Board-approved nursing program graduate.
• Licensure: active RN license with multi-state or single-state privileges as required.
• Experience: typically 1 year of clinical nursing; two years preferred in the service line.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate nursing care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitors patient conditions, updates care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Evaluates outcomes and takes action to improve patient and unit results.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Communicates effectively, provides feedback, resolves conflicts, and delegates appropriately.
• Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and ethical practice; respects interdisciplinary roles.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and UAPs as needed.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities within the service area as needed.
• Provides age-appropriate care and understands growth and development across the lifespan.
