Job summary

SoftPath Medical is seeking an Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse for a 3x12 night shift (7 PM to 7 AM) with every other weekend and float responsibilities. The unit handles diverse medical patients, including telemetry and renal cases, in a facility with a strong teaching environment.

Applicants must have a WV or Compact RN license, at least 2 years of RN experience, and BLS/ACLS certification. New grads welcome; no on-call requirements.

Job description

3S Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse

Shift

3x12 hour night shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM, weekdays, every other weekend, with float responsibilities

Unit Description

8 Intermediate Care (IMC) beds and 10 Observation beds (staffed separately). The unit cares for a diverse medical patient population including, but not limited to, respiratory conditions, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), arrhythmias, post-operative kidney transplant patients, and interventional neurological cases. Capable of managing telemetry patients with both medical and surgical needs, as well as patients with renal conditions.

Orientation sessions are held every other week on Thursdays.

Patient-to-nurse ratios: 3:1 for IMCU and 4:1 for medical/surgical patients.

Experience and Certification Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 year of specialty experience preferred

Additional Information

• RN may be floated within scope to meet facility needs as necessary
• Block schedule requests can be accommodated; discuss during interview
• Applicants must reside within a 100-mile radius (75-99 miles may require facility approval)
• WV or Compact RN license required; candidates may submit with pending license but must have active WV/Compact license to start
• No return-to-office restrictions; discuss any requests during interview
• Guaranteed hours options: 36 or 48 hours per week; discuss with manager
• Required skills: strong IMC and/or ICU experience, ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, ventilator management expertise

Flu vaccination is mandatory during flu season (October 1 to March 31) unless medically exempt with documentation; do not submit candidates who refuse the flu shot without medical proof
