Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD is seeking an experienced RN for the Psychiatric Acute Inpatient Unit, Schizophrenia (Meyer 5). This 19-bed unit focuses on schizophrenia and related conditions with a Schizophrenia Day Hospital for ongoing interventions.

The role requires an active Maryland or Compact RN license, BLS CPR certification, and prior RN experience. A BSN/MSN is preferred; a related ADN may be considered if pursuing further education within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• BSN/MSN preferred; must be from an accredited nursing program.
• Associate's degree in nursing may be considered if enrolled in BSN/MSN within 1 year of hire and complete within 5 years.
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license required.
• BLS CPR certification required (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted).
• RN work experience required.
• Ability to role model and support evidenced-based care, guide others with plan of care, independently make clinical decisions in complex situations.

The Johns Hopkins Hospital

Psychiatric Acute Inpatient Unit, Schizophrenia (Meyer 5)

is a 19 bed unit specializing in the treatment of schizophrenia psychotic disorders as well as treatment of psychiatric disorders that may include evidence of disruption in behavior, cognition, or mood. This unit features a Schizophrenia Day Hospital that provides ongoing/treatment interventions such as pharmacotherapy, individual and group psychotherapy, and psycho-education groups.

Qualifications

• BSN/MSN preferred. Must be from an accredited nursing program.
• Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered; provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire.
• Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted
• RN work experience required
• Ability to role model and support practices consistent with evidenced based care, guide others with plan of care, independently make clinical decisions in complex situations, and proactively assist others with patient assignment.

Salary Range:

Minimum $39.64/hour - Maximum $61.45/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
