Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS Card.
• Current ACLS Card within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Provide compassionate emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate an individual care plan in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients.
• Demonstrate clinical judgement with critical thinking to recognize, act upon, and report changes in patient condition.
• Complete, accurate documentation in patient medical records.
• Provide input into policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care.
• Supervision and delegation of licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed assistant personnel.
• Advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.

Role Specific Responsibilities
