City of Hope is seeking an ICU Night RN to provide specialized care in a fast-paced environment. The role involves nursing care for ICU, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients, with emphasis on assessment, education, and collaboration with physicians.

The successful candidate will have ICU experience, an RN license (or compact state), and current BLS; ACLS is required within 30 days of hire. Night shift differential applies for full 12-hour shifts.

The successful candidate:

• Night shift differential is 18% for full 12 hour shift
• Collaborates with Physicians to evaluate patient readiness for change in level of care.
• Responsible for the assessment, treatment care and education of patients.
• Cares for ICU, Medical Surgical, and telemetry patients as necessary.
• Ability to conduct risk assessment, prevention and treatment of pressure injury
• Ability to interpret and operate cardiac and other invasive and noninvasive monitors, recognize normal/abnormal rhythms/trends, and institute appropriate interventions.
• Care for patients with complex needs including hemodynamically compromised and mechanically ventilated patients.
• Initiate and maintain complex IV therapy, including thrombolytic administration, vasoactive medications, central IV catheters, dialysis catheters & arterial lines.
• Safe use of less invasive, life supporting modalities i.e. BiPAP, ETCO2, arterial pressure‑ based CO/CI & SVO2 monitor, core temperature monitors.
• Ability to care for patients with IV lines, arterial lines, central lines, ports, chest tubes, pleural catheters, tracheostomy tubes and endotracheal tubes.
• Maintenance and care of patients with an ostomy/ileostomy and urostomy.
• Care for, assess and monitor patients with Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA) and epidural catheters.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of chemotherapeutic/immunotherapeutic agents.

Qualifications

• Your qualifications should include: 1 year experience in ICU/Inpatient Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License form a Compact State Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification- an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification is required upon hire. If their current certification does not meet the guidelines, employees will have (30) days from the date of hire to acquire attend an onsite initial BLS course and will be required to renew every two years. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification-employees will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification and will need to be renewed every two years. Will not be allowed to provide ACLS for patients independently until AHA ACLS cards are obtained. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Card within 6 months of hire and renewal every two years.
