Job summary

City of Hope in Goodyear, AZ is seeking an ICU nurse for night shifts (7:00 pm–7:30 am). The role covers ICU, telemetry, and medically complex patients, with collaboration among physicians to ensure safe care and timely interventions.

The ideal candidate holds an AZ RN license (or compact) and BLS/ACLS, with ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy training within six months. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is offered; weekend commitments may apply.

Qualifications

  • 1 year ICU/inpatient experience required.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Arizona RN license or Compact State required.
  • BLS certification required at hire and renewed every 2 years.
  • ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire and renewed every 2 years.
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Administration Card within six months of hire and renewed every two years.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with physicians to evaluate patient readiness for change in level of care.
  • Assess, treat, and educate patients in ICU/medical-surgical/telemetry units.
  • Care for patients with complex needs including ventilated patients.
  • Interpret and respond to monitors and rhythms; initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Manage IV therapy and central lines as needed.
  • Maintain safety and watch for pressure injuries; monitor for adverse events.

Responsibilities
  • Successful candidate will receive a $15,000 sign on bonus.
  • Must be able to work 3 12's, 7:00p-7:30a, night shift differential is 18% for 12 hour shifts.
  • Collaborates with physicians to evaluate patient readiness for change in level of care.
  • Responsible for the assessment, treatment care and education of patients.
  • Cares for ICU, medical surgical, and telemetry patients as necessary.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessment, prevention and treatment of pressure injury.
  • Ability to interpret and operate cardiac and other invasive and non-invasive monitors, recognise normal/abnormal rhythms/trends, and institute appropriate interventions.
  • Care for patients with complex needs including hemodynamically compromised and mechanically ventilated patients.
  • Initiate and maintain complex IV therapy, including thrombolytic administration, vasoactive medications, central IV catheters, dialysis catheters and arterial lines.
  • Safe use of less invasive, life‑supporting modalities such as BiPAP, ETCO2, arterial pressure-based CO/CI and SVO2 monitor, core temperature monitors.
  • Ability to care for patients with IV lines, arterial lines, central lines, ports, chest tubes, pleural catheters, tracheostomy tubes and endotracheal tubes.
  • Maintenance and care of patients with an ostomy/ileostomy and urostomy.
  • Care for, assess and monitor patients with patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) and epidural catheters.
  • Demonstrates basic knowledge of chemotherapeutic/immunotherapeutic agents.
Qualifications
  • 1 year experience in ICU/inpatient care.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
  • Arizona Registered Nurse Licence or a Registered Nurse Licence from a Compact State.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification is required upon hire. If the current certification does not meet the guidelines, employees will have 30 days from the date of hire to acquire an on-site initial BLS course and will be required to renew every two years.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification – employees will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification and need to be renewed every two years. Will not be allowed to provide ACLS for patients independently until AHA ACLS cards are obtained.
  • Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Card within six months of hire and renewal every two years.
