Job summary

Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU team on night shifts. Expect 3 x 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends and a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, with occasional 1:3 based on patient acuity.

You will assess patients, initiate nursing interventions, document medical necessity, and contribute to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan. A strong nursing background in ICU and NC RN licensure are essential.

Qualifications

  • Current North Carolina state or compact RN license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Associate's degree in nursing is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of recent ICU RN experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
  • Performs timely documentation of medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.

Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is proud to offer a dynamic and supportive environment for healthcare professionals. Our 8-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) provides care for a diverse patient population - from ventilated patients to overflow cases. Nurses in our ICU unit typically enjoy 12 hr. shifts with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, with occasional 1:3 ratios depending on patient acuity, allowing for focused and high-quality care.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current North Carolina state or compact state RN license. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS is required within 90 days of hire
  • Associate's degree in nursing is required (Bachelor's degree is preferred)
  • 1-2 years of recent RN experience in the ICU is required.
