Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for nights at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. The role involves caring for critically ill patients, utilizing cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps, and collaborating with families to explain care plans.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, BLS, and ACLS, with 1+ year in acute care; CCU experience and a BSN are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• CCRN Certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients with assessments and care plans.
• Use advanced equipment such as cardiac monitors and ventilators to track vitals.
• Administer medications and fluids with precise dosing and timing.
• Manage life-support devices like ventilators and dialysis machines.

Shift’s Available: Nights

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 12 hour shifts - 7:00pm - 7:00am

Location: Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, Texas

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions
• Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters
• Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions
• Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors
• Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided
• Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients
