Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care and supervise LVN/LPNs and nursing assistants in Tyler, TX. You will plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and coordinate education for patients and families.

The role emphasizes leadership, teaching, and compliance with nursing policies, with a 7AM–7PM schedule and full-time employment. A BSN is preferred, with valid RN license and BLS certification required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• Six months to a year of experience as a licensed RN or holder of an active GN permit.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.
• Graduate Nurse Permit.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable CHRISTUS Health competencies; leader development across levels.
• Plans patient care, develops a comprehensive nursing care plan, and prepares nursing elements of the interdisciplinary plan.
• Implements care per nursing and interdisciplinary plans, prioritizing by patient acuity.
• Evaluates patient responses and progress with the team; documents progress daily.
• Acts as role model and preceptor; assists in orienting new staff and teaching patients and families.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and effective communication within the care team.
