Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is seeking a Nurse I at the El Paso State Supported Living Center. This full-time RN role involves routine nursing duties, medication administration, health assessments, and care coordination for residents with complex health needs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or CCNE accredited 4 year or 2 year college or university is required.
• Prior employment experience as an LVN or a Registered Nurse is preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas (or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact).

Responsibilities

• Administers medications, immunizations, and treatment and observes individuals for unusual symptoms and reactions.
• Conducts physical assessments of individual health needs and implements appropriate action.
• Manages individual’s medical record (paper chart/EHR).
• Implements and monitors case management service plans.
• Instructs and assists individuals in meeting their health care needs.
