Job summary

Saint Luke's Hospice House seeks a PRN RN to join the hospice care team, providing compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients and families. The position involves Day shifts with 3 shifts in a 6-week period, including one minor holiday.

An RN license with MO or KS compact licensure is required. Accountable for utilizing the nursing process, coordinating the plan of care, and supervising other patient care staff, while collaborating with the health care team to ensure optimal patient

Qualifications

• RN role in hospice care requiring nursing knowledge and patient-centered care.
• Experience with end-of-life care and coordination of care preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care.
• Coordinate plan of care for a group of patients and consult with the health care team.
• Supervise other patient care staff as needed.
• Provide compassionate end-of-life care to patients and families.

The Opportunity

Accountable for utilizing the nursing process. Responsible for performing patient care, delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff. Responsible for coordinating the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This clinical nurse demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies, rules, guidelines and procedures.
