DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is DMC’s largest hospital, offering a comprehensive range of services including heart care, cancer treatment, gerontology, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and cosmetic services. Sinai-Grace’s joint replacement program features minimally invasive knee and hip surgeries, attracting patients nationwide. The hospital operates over 21 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers across Wayne and Oakland Counties. It is one of ten hospitals nationwide awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to help set standards in cardiac care.

Job Description

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital part of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring quality nursing care. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with team members, including ancillary and support services. The RN role includes leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision.

The DMC RN Responsibilities include:

1. Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare providers.
2. Delegating, assessing, providing, and evaluating patient care.
3. Providing and delegating patient care activities to team members.
4. Monitoring patient progress and preparing patients for discharge.
5. Reporting directly to senior unit management and participating in shared decision-making activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from a school of nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Michigan required.
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
