Job Description - RN Cardiac Telemetry Contingent Days (2406002207)

Unit Specializes in: 3 west is a medical telemetry unit dedicated to caring for acutely ill adult patients with various diagnoses. Our team manages chronic illnesses and treats acute conditions, striving to provide safe, reliable, and quality care. We promote professional development and offer ACLS and arrhythmia/EKG interpretation training. RN staffing ratios are 1:5 with acuity-based assignments, and PCA ratios are 1:8. DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital is DMC’s largest hospital, offering comprehensive services including a heart center, cancer care, emergency medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and cosmetic services. It features a minimally invasive joint replacement program and operates over 21 outpatient care sites and ambulatory surgery centers. Sinai-Grace has received a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to help set national standards in cardiac care.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) at DMC is a vital member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring quality nursing care. The RN manages patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with team members, including ancillary and support staff. The role includes leadership, partnership, teaching, and supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare providers
  • Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care
  • Coordinate patient care activities within the team
  • Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge
  • Report to senior management and participate in shared decision-making
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school
  • BSN preferred
  • Licensed to practice as an RN in Michigan
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
