Job Summary:

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the Patient Care Services Team, responsible for ensuring high-quality nursing care. The RN manages patient care activities for a designated group of patients and their families, utilizing independent judgment, effective communication, and collaboration with team members, including ancillary and support staff. The RN’s role involves leadership, partnership, teaching, supervision, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and healthcare providers
• Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care
• Delegate patient care activities to team members
• Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge
• Report to senior management and participate in shared decision-making activities

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Licensed to practice as an RN in Michigan required
• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
