Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a registered nurse to provide ambulatory cardiac care using the nursing process. You’ll work within interdisciplinary teams, performing established nursing procedures and managing care for patients with complex needs.

The role requires 1 year of ambulatory cardiac experience, knowledge of heart failure management, and advanced IV skills. Flexibility to orient across UCSF locations is essential.

Qualifications

• 1 year of ambulatory nursing experience caring for cardiac patients and knowledge of diuretics/electrolytes.
• Knowledge of Chronic Heart Failure Management and guideline-directed medical therapy.
• Advanced skills with IV initiation and IV push medications.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 year of recent ambulatory nursing experience caring for cardiac patients and an established working knowledge of diuretics and electrolytes in the Heart Failure population.
• Knowledge of Chronic Heart Failure Management, specifically guideline directed medical therapy
• Advanced skills with IV initiation and IV push medications.
• This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Preferred Qualification

• Experience in caring for Advanced Heart Failure patients
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record
• Ability to multitask and easily float between clinic responsibilities
• BSN

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification
