Job summary

Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an RN to join our Somerset, Kentucky team in a full-time role. You will provide direct patient care, manage plans of care, document, educate patients and collaborate with the care team.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care using the nursing process per scope and standards of practice.
• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and specimen collection.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition with the care team, physicians, patients and families.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, nutrition, ambulation).
• Coordinates patient care across transfers, discharges, referrals and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age and culture.
• Advocates for patients' physical and emotional well-being.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

How You'll Contribute

• Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Information

• Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
• Exposure: Regular occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials.
• Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements

What are we looking for:

• Associate's degree in nursing required, bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

License/Certifications

• Current RN license in state of practice
• BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred.
