Job summary

The MetroHealth System is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Glick 3 East Oncology/BMT unit at the MetroHealth Main Campus. You will care for inpatient oncology patients, including those undergoing bone marrow transplant, with a focus on IV therapies, transfusions, and symptom management.

Excellent benefits include tuition reimbursement and professional certification incentives. Requires Ohio RN license and BLS; chemotherapy certification is encouraged and a must for growth within the unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient oncology nursing care with emphasis on IV medications, blood product transfusions, and pain management.
• Deliver hospice and palliative care within the unit.
• Obtain chemotherapy certification and ensure safe handling per protocol.
• Demonstrate time management, critical thinking, and effective delegation in a fast-paced environment

Location: MetroHealth Main Campus- Glick

Bi-weekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

***Up to $10,000 sign on bonus for RNs with qualifying experience***

Primary Patient Population:

• Inpatient Oncology (16 dedicated patient beds)


• Cross-trained for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)


• Medical/Surgical Overflow

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV medication therapy, blood product transfusion, pain management


• Hospice and palliative care


• Ability to obtain Chemotherapy Certification


• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 30 beds
