Job summary

MetroHealth Main Campus—Glick is seeking a dedicated RN for the Acute Care Adult Medical Oncology Unit (3 East). You will provide direct patient care in an inpatient oncology setting, including chemotherapy handling, symptom control, and collaborative care planning with a multidisciplinary team.

This role requires Ohio RN licensure, BLS, and at least 1 year of RN experience for PRN. It features a 72-hour biweekly schedule, rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, with a sign-on bonus up to

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current Ohio RN licensure.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• PRN requires 1 year of relevant RN experience.
• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Administer IV medications and blood products as prescribed.
• Provide symptom and pain management for oncology patients.
• Assist in chemotherapy administration and monitoring as certified.
• Coordinate care with LPNs, PCNAs, nurse interns, and providers.
• Demonstrate time management and critical thinking in a busy unit.

Shift: 7a-7p/7p-7a; Rotating weekends, Rotating holidays

Primary Patient Population:

• Inpatient Oncology (16 dedicated patient beds)
• Cross-trained for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
• Medical/Surgical Overflow

Primary skills utilized/learned:

• IV medication therapy, blood product transfusion, pain management
• Hospice and palliative care
• Ability to obtain Chemotherapy Certification
• Time management, critical thinking, delegating

Personnel RN will work with:

• LPNs, Patient Care Nursing Assistants (PCNAs), Nurse Interns, Providers

Number of beds on unit:

• 30 beds

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (or a program seeking accreditation).
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Ohio
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for the healthcare provider certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

• PRN must possess all required certifications upon hire
