Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver patient care in the GI Lab. You will apply the nursing process, maintain patient rights, and coordinate care with other departments to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with days and additional call hours including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Missouri RN licensure and BLS/ACLS as required support success, along with competitive incentives.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (BSN, ASN, or Diploma Program).
• Missouri RN licensure and/or compact licensure required.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) or completion within 30 days; ACLS as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Job description

Qualifications

• Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (BSN, Associate's Degree, or Diploma Program).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as required.
• Other: Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
