Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a dedicated staff nurse. The role involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population in a 29-bed unit, including surgical, trauma, and medical patients.

Night shifts (7pm–7am) with sign-on bonus and weekend option are available to support staffing needs. Join our team of nurses, patient care techs, and secretaries focused on patient safety and professional growth as part of Piedmont Healthcare.

Qualifications

• Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
• Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients from birth through the life span using nursing processes.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Coordinate patient care activities of all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.

Sign-on Bonus Available $Weekend Option Nights 7pm-7amThe surgery unit has 29 beds. Our dynamic patient population includes surgical, trauma and a variety of medical patients. Our surgeries typically involve the neck to the gut.This population includes GI surgeries such as colon resections, small bowel resections, cholecystectomies and appendectomies. We also care for vascular surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies and maxillofacial procedures, etc. Trauma patients may have multiple injuries, chest tubes, a tracheostomy and/or other drains, but have stabilized enough for a non-ICU/step down med-surg floor admission. We are a level 2 trauma center.

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
