Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking an energetic Medical-Surgical Staff Nurse for our 30-bed Med-Surg unit in Athens. The role involves providing nursing care to adults and geriatrics, coordinating care with the medical team, and upholding high standards of practice in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has RN licensure in Georgia, BCLS certification, and is open to new graduates or those with hospital experience for PRN roles.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• No experience required; new graduates eligible.
• 1 year hospital experience preferred for PRN positions.
• GA RN licensure required; BCLS required.
• Advanced certification in specialty area, if applicable.

Responsibilities

Med A is seeking an energetic medical-surgical nurse to join our dynamic team here at Piedmont Athens.

We pride ourselves in providing high quality, evidenced based care on a fast paced 30 bed Med-Surg unit.

Our Med A staff coordinate health care plans with the entire medical team to provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients suffering from a variety of illnesses and comorbidities including overflow from our specialty care units such as Surgery, Pulmonary, Neuroscience, Oncology, and Orthopedics. Support staff include IV team, home med nurse and lift team.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

• Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs.
• Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios
