Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a dedicated RN for a full-time, day shift 7am-7pm to care for surgical, trauma and medical patients in a 29-bed unit. The unit is a Level 2 trauma center with diverse cases from GI to vascular surgeries. We emphasize patient safety and professional development within a collaborative team.

Sign-on bonus available. Ideal candidates are graduates with nursing degrees and Georgia licensure, with or without prior hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1 year hospital experience preferred (PRN) or new graduates eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients using the nursing process.
• Coordinate patient care activities for all assigned staff.

The surgery unit has 29 beds. Our dynamic patient population includes surgical, trauma and a variety of medical patients. Our surgeries typically involve the neck to the gut. This population includes GI surgeries such as colon resections, small bowel resections, cholecystectomies and appendectomies. We also care for vascular surgeries, mastectomies, thyroidectomies and maxillofacial procedures, etc. Trauma patients may have multiple injuries, chest tubes, a tracheostomy and/or other drains, but have stabilized enough for a non-ICU/step down med-surg floor admission. We are a level 2 trauma center.
