Job summary

Mercy is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time day shift (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM) in Missouri. As an RN, you will utilize the nursing process to provide exceptional patient care while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to promote optimal patient outcomes. Schedule
  • Full-Time
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Weekend, call, and alternate shifts may be required based on departmental needs
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned patient care and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers.
  • Coordinate patient care activities with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
  • Involve patients and families in care decisions and provide appropriate education.
  • Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments and care plans.
  • Conduct patient handoffs utilizing established patient safety tools such as SBAR and bedside reporting.
  • Interpret and utilize diagnostic, laboratory, and monitoring data.
  • Communicate patient status and pertinent findings to providers and the healthcare team.
  • Participate in patient rounding to ensure quality care and patient satisfaction.
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to LPNs and unlicensed healthcare personnel according to scope of practice and competencies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and advocate for patient rights.
  • Participate in process improvement activities, committees, quality initiatives, and professional development opportunities.
  • Complete all required competencies, certifications, and mandatory training within designated timeframes.
  • Support Mercy's mission, values, and service standards in all interactions.
Qualifications
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nursing program.
Licensure
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state or compact RN licensure.
  • Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
Additional certifications may be required based on department assignment, including:
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • PEARS
  • C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
  • S.T.A.B.L.E.
  • OCN
  • CPHON
  • Other unit-specific certifications as required
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat, reach, and grip to perform job duties.
