Job summary

Care New England is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Night shift. This 36/72 Full Time Nights position includes a sign-on bonus of $10,000, with half paid at 6 months and the remainder at one year of employment.

The role requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a current RI nursing license, with a BSN preferred. The unit focuses on patients with complex behavioral and psychiatric needs, and the nurse will participate in treatment planning, emergencies coordination, medication

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of patients.
• Coordinates psychiatric or medical emergencies ensuring patient safety and care.
• Participates as an active team member, assisting other staff and taking on additional assignments.
• Administers medications with knowledge of action, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes the role of Charge Nurse for the shift.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of their patients.
• Coordinates Psychiatric and/or Medical emergencies in such a manner that assures that the individual in crisis is properly cared for and that all other patients are safe.
• Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities.
• Administers medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes role of Charge Nurse for the shift.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• B.S.N preferred.
• Current RI nursing license.

Schedule

36/72 Full Time Nights - Every Other Weekend

Unit Info

This unit will focus on providing specialized treatment for our patients with unique and complex needs. In addition to patients with psychotic and mood disorders, patients treated on this unit will include those with severe behavioral disturbances and patients who are intellectually and developmentally disabled.
